At last Steve Jobs unveiled long-awaited tablet computer. Apple iPad is positioned as positioned as a cross between laptop and smartphone. It is said to be ideal device for web surfing, reading, chatting, video and music playback. The founder of Apple demonstrated the work email-client, picture browser, calendar, GPS module, iTunes and iBooks applications. Steve Jobs also noted that iPad is synchronized both with Mac OS and Windows operating systems.
iPad runs on iPhone OS 3.2 that means it is completely compatible with applications for iPhone. At the same time this fact means that iPad can’t run Mac OS apps and doesn’t support Flash. Besides this device is said to be ideal game platform. To prove that fact Scott Forstall demonstrated a game with OpenGSL support.
This tablet is equipped with 9.7 inch touch display with 1024×768 px resolution and multi-touch technology support, 1 GHz Apple A4 CPU, 16/32/64 Gb built-in storage, digital compass, Wi-Fi 802.11n and Bluetooth 2.1 +EDR. The battery of this device provides about 10 hours of work time.
iPad will become available in April. The pricing starts at $499. The most expensive version of iPad will cost $829 and will be equipped with 64 Gb storage, GPS and 3G modules.
